75th Anniversary of D-Day to be observed

Please join the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2019 in commemorating the 75th Anniversary of D-Day. The Invasion of Normandy was a major event in the battle against Nazi Germany in World War II. Our program is an eyewitness recollection of the events leading up to and on that historic day. We will be showing “D-Day Plus Twenty Years” (120 minutes). This CBS program, with Walter Cronkite interviewing General Dwight D. Eisenhower. Originally aired in 1964, this is a timeless tribute to the events of June 6, 1944.

The National Purple Heart Hall of Honor is located at 374 Temple Hill Road (Route 300) in the town of New Windsor, three miles south of I-84 exit 7B and I-87 exit 17. Parking, gift shop, and picnic grounds are located on site. Gallery exhibits are open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday - Saturday and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
