Assemblyman Colin J. Schmitt (R,C,I-New Windsor) Thursday announced that Orange and Rockland County businesses impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak are now eligible to apply for federal Small Business Administration Disaster Loan Assistance.

Small business owners are encouraged to apply immediately using the online portal which can be accessed at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela/ or can call the SBA Customer Service Center 1-800-659-2955.

“As we continue to face the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak small businesses are suffering immensely,” Schmitt said. “After working with my partners in government we have now ensured Orange and Rockland County businesses are eligible to apply for federal SBA disaster loan assistance. All impacted businesses should immediately apply. I will continue to work on additional relief measures and anyone needing assistance with this or other programs can feel free to reach out to my office which will maintain operations during this crisis to help constituents.”

The current disaster assistance from SBA is low-interest, long-term loans to businesses of all sizes and private non-profit organizations.
