Throughout these past months, the city has launched various recreational opportunities for residents. Staff closed Downing Park to through traffic for the season to give people more open and safe spaces. A “Call for Fitness Instructors” was made to provide group fitness instruction classes in Downing Park potentially through November. Additionally, staff launched the Slow Streets initiative, a pattern of selected street closures in each ward to give residents access to expanded outdoor space right outside their front doors.
