Donate for kids in need

This year the Marines are doing a Toys For Tots drive at the Newburgh Armory Unity Center to help support the community by ensuring no child goes without gifts for the holidays.

They are calling for donations from anyone and everyone, as they are seeing less than they have in past years. And with such an unprecedented year, the children need it more than ever.

Toys for Tots is asking for new and unopened toy or monetary donations to help the community this holiday season and assist them in meeting their goal.

Donations can be dropped off at the Armory, located at 321 S. William Street, every Monday and Friday from November 9 until December 18 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.

Additionally, in an effort to limit contact, they made an Amazon wishlist that will deliver toys directly to their warehouse. You can find the wishlist at amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1VYLDHIIUBR1J?&sort=default.

In addition to the drive in Newburgh, they are finalizing locations in Sullivan, Ulster, Rockland and Dutchess Counties, which would run the same hours.

“For now our primary push is the Armory for Orange and the wishlist,” said Matthews.
