The gardiner Library will host a Storytime Theatre Program with Carolyn Thorenz.

This program is designed for ages 9-11. Meetings will be held on 5 consecutive Fridays March 1 through April 5 from 4 – 5 p.m. The full series is $25. What happens when good stories and young actors collide? Storytime Theatre, of course! If you’re interested in acting, stage crew or program design, this is a great beginning. Pre-register by February 22. A public performance by the storytime theater troupe will be held Saturday April 6, 11 a.m. Casting for roles in Goldilocks and the Three Bears retold by Jan Brett and Goldilocks and the Three Dinosaurs retold by Mo Willems and casting for players in nursery rhymes during intermission.

Carolyn Thorenz began her career as a writer and editor for newspapers and magazines. For the past eight years Carolyn has been working in local libraries, much of that time as the Children’s Program Coordinator at the Wallkill Public Library where she facilitated story times, children’s and teen programs. Among a variety of activities, Carolyn staged an original production of Typhoid Mary and ran an improv program and Magic Tree House Club at the Wallkill Public Library. Six months ago Carolyn started working at the Gardiner Library developing new programs for youth of all ages as well as adults.

To pre-register for the class, call the library at 255-1255 or stop by 133 Farmer’s Turnpike in Gardiner. Classes take place in the library community room.
