Giocchino “Jack” Cannatella of the Town of Newburgh passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on Friday, Sept. 25, 2020. The son of the late Vincenzo and Annunziata (Argento) Cannatella, and the second of five brothers, Jack was born in Manhattan on Dec. 5, 1938.

Jack served with the National Guard, and was a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church in Newburgh. He married Carmen (Alvarado) Cannatella, who survives at home.

In addition to Carmen he is survived by his children, Christopher J. Cannatella, Diane M. Cannatella, Susan M. Cannatella, Michael J. Cannatella, Jacqueline N. Cannatella, and James Parrish; two brothers, Vincent Cannatella and Ronald Cannatella; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by two brothers, Luciano Cannatella and Anthony Cannatella, and his son, Michael J. Cannatella.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, September 29 at St. Patrick’s Church, Newburgh, with burial following in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor.
