Please join me and vote for Rich Steger for the Newburgh Town Board.

Earlier this year, Jim Presutti took over as town Parks Commissioner, leaving the Board. Steger should fill this seat and he will reinvigorate the Town.

His education includes a degree in Parks and Recreation Management from SUNY Delhi, in Physical Education from SUNY Cortland, a Masters in Special Education from Mt. St. Mary College, as well as a degree in Public School Administration.

He has been Vice President of the Valley Central Teacher’s Association for 20 years, and a member of the Hudson Valley Area Labor Federation, Greenlight NY Campaign and Hope Not Handcuffs.

Steger will bring his experience and civic pride to the Town Board, along with the importance of being a Democrat. We have been a one-party town for too long.

Just as important, please vote to keep Senator James Skoufis in Albany for another term. His policies and actions support us, the local citizens in his district. Consider that he stopped Medline from getting unnecessary tax breaks for their warehouse in the village of Montgomery. Skoufis understands that folks want to preserve their quality of life and avoid overdevelopment.

Further, he supports small businesses, the backbone of our communities. That’s why the National Federation of Independent Businesses has endorsed him.

On the environment, he worked with Ulster County Senator Jen Metzger to pass the long overdue “Climate and Community Protection Act”, with clear timelines for phasing in renewable energy.

Skoufis brings vitality and integrity to the Senate. He needs to stay there.
