Lois Ann Snyder, of Poughkeepsie, and a lifelong Dutchess County resident, entered into rest on Saturday, February 13, 2021. She was 60.

Daughter of the late Robert and Ann P. (Longmuir) Buchar, she was born on May 7, 1960 in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Lois Ann was a former Office Machine Operator with the New York State, DOT, Region 8, and earlier in life worked as a nurse’s aide for Central Dutchess Nursing Home. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Poughkeepsie, and while in school there, she participated in outreach programs to assist children with disabilities.  She volunteered as a Vanderbilt Garden Club member, and also gave of her time to the Lutheran Care Center, the Fishkill Health Center and the Castle Point VA Center.

Survivors include her husband, Carl A. Snyder; two brothers, Wayne Buchar of Bloomfield, NY and Douglas Buchar of NC; a sister, Pamela Krizek of Newburgh; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place from 3  to 5  pm on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at White, Venuto and Morrill Funeral and Cremation Service, 188 N. Plank Road, Newburgh, NY 12550.

A Funeral Service will take place 11:00 am, Monday, February 22, 2021, at the Funeral Home.

Due to the continued public health concerns, please know that there is an occupancy limitation which may cause a wait time, please be respectful of your time visiting. Facial covering must be worn in the funeral home at all times, and social distancing must be practiced.

Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor, NY.
