Marina Andropow Cramer, an author who grew up as a Russian refugee in post-World War II Germany, will be discussing her experiences on Thursday, September 26 at Mount Saint Mary College.
The talk is free and open to the public. It will be held at 4 p.m. in the Dominican Center on campus, 330 Powell Avenue, Newburgh, N.Y.
Cramer will be discussing her first novel, ROADS, which was inspired by her family’s struggles while fleeing from Russia. The book provides an on-the-ground perspective of well-known history, detailing – among much more – the cruelty of Russian labor camps and the firebombing of Dresden.
The talk is sponsored by the Kaplan Family Library and Learning Center and the Divisions of Education, Social Sciences, and Arts & Letters.
