New York State does require voter identification

A letter writer in the 2/18/21 edition of the paper claimed that New York State doesn’t require identification to vote, but that’s not accurate.

I worked at  Walden voting sites for the elections of 2008, 2010 and 2012. In order to vote in this state your name must be found in a book of the registered voters in your district, and then you need to sign the book so your signature can be compared to your signature in the book. Signature comparison is a form of identification that has kept New York State free from voter fraud.
