One-man magic show in Rhinebeck

Andy Weintraub, Rhinebeck’s resident magician, presents Tricks of the Trade: A Magician’s Show and Tale at The Center for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck, January 3 and 4 at 8 pm, and January 5 at 3 pm. This solo performance presents the magician’s artistry within the context of Andy’s life. His biography is distinguished by how his life experiences have influenced his magic, and how magic has influenced his life. These personal recollections are conveyed through multiple theatrical art forms: classic magic routines, puppetry, mental gymnastics, playing cards, and psychokinetic effects.

As one of the founders of both The Rhinebeck Theatre Society and The Center for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck, Andy has been active in the local theater community as an actor, director, and lighting and set designer and builder. He is also the creator of Grumpus Magic, a magic show presented during Rhinebeck’s annual Sinterklaas celebration.

Tricks of the Trade: A Magician’s Show and Tale has many opportunities for audience participation but is not recommended for children below the age of 7.

Tickets are $10 at the door, or they may be reserved at by calling 845-876-3080, or online at centerforperformingarts.org.
