Port Authority employs new marketing strategy for Stewart

The Board of Commissioners of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has approved a new strategy to grow and modernize New York Stewart International Airport.

It calls for upgrading Stewart’s air carrier incentive program as well as developing new partnerships with regional and state economic development agencies and hiring an experienced marketing firm to build on the success of Norwegian Air which carried 600,000 passengers from Stewart between 2017 and 2019 from Stewart to Ireland, Scotland and Norway.

The cornerstone of the plan, says Rick Cotton, executive director of the Port of New York and New Jersey, is the task is rebuilding the airport’s international passenger base.

Called Future Stewart Partners the new management team is AvPorts that now manages Stewart and award winning Groupe ADP, which is made up of French airports including Aeroports de Paris which manages and owns Charles De Gaulle Airport and Le Bourjet Groupe ADP.

“This strategic plan is a commitment,” said Cotton to “modernize facilities and improve customer service.”

Marketing Hudson Valley attractions, Cotton emphasized, will be the airport’s key to success.

New will be a public relations thrust to attract more visitors to the airport’s menu of nearby attractions, such as Legoland opening soon and popular Woodbury Common shopping center.
