School ballots expected to be counted on Wednesday

The results of the school budget vote and school district election were not yet available as the Mid Hudson Times went to press on Tuesday.

June 9 was the initial deadline for the mail-in ballot, but by executive order, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced last week that mailed-in ballots would be accepted for all school district elections through Tuesday, July 16. It was expected that the ballots would be counted on Wednesday, June 17.

There were seven candidates in the running for the school: Shoy Colbourne, Zachary Costa, Dawn Fucheck, Mark Levinstein, Carole Mineo, Darren Stridiron, and William Walker. Mineo, Stridiron, and Walker are the incumbents. Also on the ballot was the proposed school budget, with a general fund allocation of $287,432,60.
