Socially-distant Halloween celebration is Friday

Hello New Windsor. Recently my dad injured his knee to the point that he has been on crutches for a few weeks. He is a lifelong athlete who played sports actively into his late 50’s so his knees at his current age of 77 are definitely to the point where they are always hurting to begin with. But what he did recently to make one of them a lot worse was a shocker. He got hurt in a football game getting tackled by two really big guys.
You probably are wondering why a 77-year-old man is playing football? Is he crazy?
You must be wondering where this big football game took place?
The problem is there is a very good chance you won’t be able to find the field. Because my dad doesn’t even know where the field is that the big game was played on. And no, it is not because he took a blow to the head besides hurting his knee. It is because the whole football game in question happened in my fathers dream. He dreamt that he was playing football and that he got tackled. The dream must have been so vivid because when he got tackled he actually fell out of bed hurting his knee.
I have heard of active sleepers before but I don’t think I have ever heard of someone falling out of bed because they were dreaming they were playing sports.

Join the Town of New Windsor Recreation Department this Friday October 23 at 6:30 p.m. at Kristi Babcock Memorial Park for a fun filled scary Halloween Celebration. Drive your car along the Haunted Road and get “scared silly,” drive thru trick or treat and get candy from the characters of Once Upon a Tea Party, and other special guests. And end the evening with a socially distant safe costume parade with prizes, and a Drive In Halloween Movie where you can watch the “Addams Family” from the warmth of your car or on a lawn chair right outside of your car. This event is being sponsored by Regenbaum Arcerio McMillan & Burgess, PC. Attorneys At Law. For more information please call the Recreation Department at 565-7750. We hope to see everyone there!

Join the Town of New Windsor Recreation Department on Wednesday December 2 from 6 - 9 p.m. in the Community Center and learn how to make your own beautiful holiday wreath. Keep it for yourself or give it away as a gift, you will go home feeling good about what you created. Why buy a wreath when you can have fun making your own? Bring your own pruners, and gloves if you have them. Social distancing will be in place for this class so space is extremely limited so sign up today! Price of class is $30 which is more affordable than buying a wreath from the store, and it will be a lot nicer.
