St. George’s Church to host comedy fundraiser

St. George’s Episcopal Church, 105 Grand Street, Newburgh, is holding a Comedy Night Fundraiser, Saturday, December 7 in the parish hall, beginning at 6 p.m. The three stand-up comedians take center stage at 7 p.m.

The comedy trio, each of whom will perform for 30 minutes are Larry DiGregorio, Joe Aulogia, and Tom Anzalone.

Larry was a police officer for twenty-two years and took the title of “Funniest First Responder in Orange County”. He has appeared at the Parx Casino, Turning Stone Casino, the Funny Bone Comedy Club, Resorts World Casino, as well as clubs and colleges from New York to South Carolina.

Joe Aulogia’s matter of fact comedy style has been lauded and applauded by audiences across the northeast. Tom Anzalone has appeared on television on “America’s Funniest People”, “Comedy Central”, and on the Showtime Comedy Network. He has performed at New York City’s Laugh Factory, and at Atlantic City’s and Las Vegas’ Tropicana Hotels, as well as internationally. Tom has entertained troops stationed stateside with “Comics on Duty”. In addition to his comedic talents, Tom possesses musical talent. With a few simple props, guitar and a roll of electrical tape, he produces quick and quirky impersonations of Elvis and Elton, and countless more.

Other attractions of this night of entertainment to benefit St. George’s Church, include complimentary delicious light fare and refreshments including an assortment of cheese and crackers, fruits, beverages, and apple, pumpkin, and banana breads.

There is an opportunity to purchase homemade cookies and the “Warm and Cozy Christmas Basket” will be raffled off. The basket contains a handmade fleece blanket, handmade winter scarf, seasonal mugs, hot chocolate and marshmallows, seasonal night light, snow globe, candles including a special St. George’s candle, a Christmas novel, a Michael Buble Christmas CD, and Commodore chocolates, to name only a few.

Further, there will be a 50/50 and a pop up mini-boutique of handmade crafts and jewelry, candles, and handknitted goods.

The comedy will be clean. It is an eighteen years and up show, however, just to give parents and other adults a night out to relax and enjoy.
