The muddle of Mullarkey and McGee

The ailing New Windsor Supervisor George Green has been out of office for 15 weeks with questionable indications he will resume his duties. He receives a salary and benefits of approximately $135,000 per year, while taxpayers are being charged for TWO Deputy Supervisors during his prolonged absence.

Octogenarian Patricia Mullarkey is the official and paid Deputy Supervisor. Green added to the Mullarkey muddle and with no voter support, appointed James McGee as Chief of Staff and Assistant to the Supervisor. Taxpayers pay an additional $100,000 in benefits and salary. McGee is a Cornwall resident and a candidate for the Cornwall Town Board. When does the expense spiral end? Can we really expect New Windsor loyalty from a Cornwall resident?

Pat Mullarkey has always been a “rubber stamp” to George Green’s corrupt policies. She approved Green’s multi-million dollar plant on the Moodna Creek which processes polluted water. She supports Green’s proposed county sewer plant to be located on the Hudson River in New Windsor. This odorus plant will service multiple Orange County municipalities including KJ. As a result of her dereliction of her paid “Deputy duties,” we have a water debacle, outrageous tax abatements to developers, overdevelopment of housing and a planned super-sized water plant which all will result in increased traffic and a decline in our quality of life.

We can end her long career on November 5, 2019 by replacing her with new energy and appropriate perspective. Elect activists Sylvia Santiago and Stephen A. Bedetti to New Windsor’s Town Council and the qyualified Kelly Allegra as Town Clerk. They bring the needed innovation and integrity to support proposals Supervisor George Meyers will create for the good of our community.
