The Downing Park Ampitheater is the setting for weekend Yoga in the Park. Yoga classes are offered three times each weekend:
- Friday night twilight yoga, 6 - 7 p.m. with Kim Scalzo.
- Saturday morning, 9 - 10 a.m. with Carol Scott (pictured in purple at right.
- Sunday morning, 9 - 10 a.m., hosted by Sportsplex.
The benefits of Yoga, according to the American Osteopatchic Association, include: increased flexibility, increased muscle strength and tone, improved respiration, energy and vitality, maintaining a balanced metabolism, weight reduction, cardio and circulatory health, improved athletic performance, and protection from injury. And check off one more benefit: the classes are free!
The classes will continue through the first weekend in October.
