Alpha Win presents the second annual Hudson Valley Marathon at the Walkway Over the Hudson on May 5. This unique race course traverses over the iconic Walkway Over the Hudson, the scenic William R. Steinhaus Dutchess Rail Trail, and the picturesque Hudson Valley Rail Trail. Participants will have the thrilling experience of racing over the world’s longest elevated pedestrian bridge.

“The Hudson Valley Marathon is open to anyone interested in racing or supporting the athlete in their life,” said Tommy Struzzieri, President and CEO of Alpha Win. Participants can choose the distance that’s right for them—from the one mile, 5k, 10k, half-marathon and marathon.

For more seasoned athletes, half-marathon and marathon participants will race on USATF-certified courses, making the race a qualifier for the Boston Marathon 2025 and New York City Marathon 2024.

Morgan Stanley is the event’s title sponsor. Additional sponsors include Basch and Keegan, CDPHP, WMC Health, Naccarato Insurance and Imedview. Weekend festivities begin on Saturday, May 4, at the Mid-Hudson Discovery Museum in Poughkeepsie, where Alpha Win will host an athlete check-in and a pre-race party. Hilary Topper, industry-renowned author and founder of running and triathlon team WeREndurance, will give a sure-to-inspire pre-race speech.

BLACKBARN Hudson Valley will cater a pasta dinner from 5 to 7 p.m., and Nancy Donnelly Vocals will conclude the evening with live music at 6 p.m.

On race day, Newburgh Brewing Company will host a beer garden on the Hudson Valley Rail Trail just beyond the finish line, offering a free beer to 21+ participants with a proper ID and bib. Athletes and their fans and family can enjoy a bustling vendor expo.

Continuing on the success of 2023’s event, participants can compete for awards in the 5K Team Race or organize a team to compete in the Aid Station Competition. The aid station with the best decorations, music and energy will receive an award. Additionally, Alpha Win will issue participants first, second, and third-place awards for age group and overall.

Alpha Win will provide free race entries to school districts in Dutchess and Ulster County.

Registration will remain open until the day before the race to foster a spirit of inclusion. To register, please visit HudsonValleyMarathon.com.
