Wired Gallery is pleased to announce Art of Everyday Objects, its first-ever makers’ show curated by Erin von Holdt-Gilbert and featuring 28 local artists and artisans.

Art of Everyday Objects opens on Saturday, May 25, with a reception from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. sponsored by Stone Ridge Wine and Spirits.

Curator Erin von Holdt-Gilbert, a Woodstock-based fiber artist, teacher, and one of the exhibiting makers, says “Big or small, everything surrounding us has meaning. What we wear, the cup we drink from, the quilt we sleep under - all have an impact – in our lives and the lives of the people who made them. In an ever more mass-produced world, I’ve chosen to be conscious about where the things I bring into my life come from – to create a hand crafted home. This show encapsulates a cross section of goods by over 25 of my favorite local makers – from furniture and home goods to wearables.”

Wired gallerist Sevan Melikyan says “The Hudson Valley region has been a mecca for artists and craftsman since the days of the Hudson River School. Today, it is also home to a great number of outstanding makers who lend their creativity into crafting objects that are not only distinctive but functional. Let this show be the first at celebrating the art of everyday objects at Wired Gallery.”
