Bette Jean Borden (7/12/1939 - 1/30/202), of Wallkill, passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by the love of her family. She was 81.

She was born one of six children to her parents Edith (St. John) and Arthur Decker.

Bette lived for her family. Everything she did in life was for the happiness of theirs. All birthdays and holidays were celebrated around her kitchen table with amazing food, special desserts, fun stories, and lots of laughter. In recent years her favorite pastimes were having friends over for coffee, doing crossword puzzles, and most of all spending time with her great-granddaughters whom she adored.

She leaves behind to always cherish her memory, her daughter Sandy Camera and husband Vernon, her granddaughter Melissa Pimentel and husband Joe along with their daughters Odessa and Alandria, and her grandson Joseph Toth and his partner Amanda Behr. She also leaves behind her brother Roger Decker and sister Dorothy as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Bette was predeceased by her husband of 55 years Richard Borden,

her brothers Richard and Robert Decker and sister Joan Carol Glant.

A special thank you for the gentle care of Hospice workers and for the friendship of Duane and Georgette Mickle - Bette’s best friends who always made her smile.

She was loved so very much and will be deeply missed.
