The Marlboro High School Varsity Softball team will be hosting a Pasta Dinner fundraiser at Brix Gastropub, which is located at 1 King Street in Marlboro, on Wednesday, November 15, from 4 - 9 p.m. For $25, guests can enjoy pasta, salad, bread, dessert, and beverages. All proceeds will benefit the team. Come out and raise a fork for a good cause!

Congratulations are in order for Marlboro Elementary School Grade 4 student Maxwell Giansante and Grade 3 student Winston Cahill, who were recognized during a recent Board of Education meeting for completing the 1,000 Book Project! Sponsored by the Marlboro Faculty Association, the 1,000 Book Project is a reading program that motivates children and caregivers to read 1,000 books together. To participate, children can visit the Marlboro Free Library or the Sarah Hull Hallock Free Library in Milton to begin borrowing pre-made bags of books, each of which contains ten books. Read the books, return the bag and check out another. Happy reading, Marlboro!

Congratulations to MFA member James Ventriglia on his Pride of Marlboro award for his organization of the annual ceremony at a soccer game to recognize first responders and military personnel.

Kudos to the Marlboro High School chapter of the National Honor Society for hosting another successful Blood Drive on October 19. A big thank you to all of the blood donors—your generosity is truly life-changing! Post-donation, our contributors relaxed on comfy mats and enjoyed a well-deserved treat of juice and snacks of their choosing. The event, which was held in collaboration with the American Red Cross, showcased the true spirit of giving!

Congratulations to Marlboro High School and Orange-Ulster BOCES CTEC student Amanda Kunkel. Amanda is a recipient of the 2023 “Spirit of Success” award presented at the 41st Annual Orange County Executive’s Youth and Adult Award ceremony. Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus issued awards to recognize recipients for their leadership, dedication and influence in making positive impacts in their communities.
