Charlotte A. Hug, 77, of New Paltz, New York passed away on Friday, January 1, 2021 at Hudson Valley Rehab. & Extended Care Center of Highland.

Born July 7, 1943 in Staten Island, New York, she was the daughter of the late Anton and Charlotte (Knunde) Hug.
Charlotte moved to New Paltz as a child and has always been loyal to her community with generous gifts to non-profits.

Specifically, the Elting Library, which bears the name of the Losee family in a special reading room, in tribute to her good friends and neighbors, Thomas and Carol Losee and their three children.

She often volunteered at the library which gave her a sense of pride.

Stricken by polio in her youth, she triumphed in her independence, relying on the New Paltz bus system to bring her to various places.

Survived by her good friends, Owen T. Clarke of Staatsburg, NY and her neighbors, Thomas Losee and his wife, Carol of New Paltz, NY.

Due to Covid concerns, the calling hours will be private.

On Thursday January 7, at 11:30 a.m. at the New Paltz Cemetery, 81 Plains Road, New Paltz, New York 12561, there will be a graveside service officiated by Pastor Tobias, to which all are invited.
