Class of 2023 Freshmen Orientation set

Highland High School will present the Class of 2023 Freshman Orientation on Tuesday, August 27, 5:45 - 8 p.m. at HHS.

Learn about clubs, organizations, and activities; use of technology; academic eligibility; support networks; and elect class officers! Schedules will be available!
It is sponsored by Highland High School PBIS Committee, HHS Guidance Department, and HS PTSA
Students interested in running for a Freshman Student Council Officer position must email Miss Ela Skrabak at eskrabak@highland-k12.org. You must include the following information in your email: your name, which position you would like to run for (president, vice president, secretary or treasurer), your letter of intent (this is a 100-word essay explaining what you would like to accomplish as a student council officer during the 2019-2020 school year).

You MUST submit all 3 of the above criteria to Miss Skrabak by August 20, 2019. She will send you an email to confirm that she received everything. If you do not get a confirmation email, please call the high school ASAP!


Fall Fest!
On Saturday, September 21 head down to Fall Fest hosted by Adonai Lodge #718 at 48 Main Street in Highland. All proceeds from the festival will be used to benefit the Elting House Preservation Fund.
There will be craft beer, food vendors and music.

Fall Baseball (Highland Babe Ruth League)
Registration is now open for Fall Baseball for the Majors and Minors divisions. For those new to fall ball, players will play at the level they will be eligible at next spring. Registration for fall ball closes on August 23.
Practices will likely begin the following week with games commencing after Labor Day. Typically, the season runs through October with one practice and game per week. Most games will be against other towns in our district.

Cost per player is $70. (Arrangements being made for softball league players and younger divisions). To register, please visit the Highland Babe Ruth League Facebook page.

Sons and Daughters of Italy Lodge
Have you ever thought about joining the Sons and Daughters of Italy? A new chapter is starting up in Highland! Join the meeting on September 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the Highland Public Library!

Besides the social opportunities and celebrations, as a member of this National Organization you’ll have access to classes on the Italian language, food and culture. You can help fight against Italian stereotypes and discrimination. Your children can learn more about their heritage and have opportunities for leadership training and scholarships.
Come check it out.

Highland Harvest Fest
The Highland Harvest Fest, hosted by the Highland Business Association will be held on Saturday, September 28 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at The Town Field. Support local businesses and partake in the fun activities.

There will be music, food, pie contest, cupcake contest, vendors and performances from Gina Marie’z Academy of Performing Arts and Bushiken Karate.

CDA First Annual Tea Party
The Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Nilan #985are excited to host their first annual Tea Party on Sunday, September 29 from 1:30 - 4:30 pm. There will be food, drinks, and raffles (including 50-50, a door prize, and baskets!) Tickets are $10 a person. There will be no ticket sold at the door so hurry and reserve your spot today! The deadline for reservations is September 1, 2019.

The Tea will be set up in the St. Augustine school auditorium.
