Development in Lloyd

I appreciate the newspaper’s recent article about proposed development in Lloyd (Residents to developers: slow down!). My neighbors and I are concerned about how the projects are going to affect our safety, privacy and quality of life. The Planning Board and the Town Board need to take the time necessary to hear our concerns and ideas.

The number of proposed projects that are impacting the 9W/Chapel Hill Road area has tripled in a few months and there seems to be little to slow down their progress. Trees are already being cut down for a survey for the The Villages project, which has not even been fully approved yet!
Approving a lot of poorly thought out projects would just increase traffic, noise and light pollution, and the tax burden of residents. Our elected officials need to advocate for the benefit of Highland and Lloyd residents, not out-of-town developers.
