On Sunday, February 9, 2020 Edmundo Ruiz, loving husband and father of five children, passed away at the age of 64.
Edmundo was born on November 20, 1955 in Oaxaca, Mexico. He worked for the SUNY education system as a Landscaper and Grounds Maintenance Expert.

On March 5, 1988 he married Valentina Ruiz. They raised a son, Edmund and a daughter Jamie. Edmundo had a true passion for gardening and photography and caring for his wife and family.

When he wasn’t behind the camera capturing life’s precious moments, he found joy in maintaining his beautiful garden with his wife. He was known for his kindness and laughter and was an avid joke teller. He will be fondly remembered as a scion of the Ruiz family whose positive attitude and strength of spirit touched the hearts of all who knew him. His influence will be felt for generations to come.

Edmundo was preceded in death by his father Joseinas Ruiz. He is survived by his mother Carmen, his wife Valentina, his five children Jamie, Edmund, Mario, Daniel, and Mindy, his brother Nick, sisters Sarah and Elvira, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 13 at Saint Augustine Church, 55 Main Street, Highland.
