Elizabeth A “Betty” Scott

Elizabeth “Betty” A. Scott, 88, of New Paltz, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, November 4, 2019.

Born May 21, 1931 in New Paltz, she was the daughter of the late Don and Anna (Fisher) Kite.

Betty married Harold G. Scott on February 12, 1950, in New Paltz, NY. They had close to 70 years together before he passed on September 6, 2017.

Affectionately known as Ma Scott and gramma to many, she was an avid fan for all of her children and grandchildren’s activities, never missing an event.

She was a bus driver for New Paltz Central School District for 20 years. From there she worked as an administrative assistant for three town supervisors and the New Paltz School District. She
also worked for Pastor Howard Major at the Dutch Reformed Church until her retirement in 2009. She loved to bowl, golf, and spent many hours hunting and fishing with Harold.

Survivors include her children, Judi Roehrs and her husband, David of New Paltz, NY, Will Scott and his wife, Cheryl of New Paltz, NY and Jacki Yenzer of New Paltz, NY; her grandchildren, Pine Roehrs and her husband, Jeff Wagner, Jamie Roehrs, Destiny Scott, Tyler Scott and his wife, Shelby Scott, Kelsey Federico and her husband, Stefano, Clinton Roehrs and his wife, Adrienne; her great granddaughter, Adalina Elizabeth Federico of New Paltz, NY; her brother, David Kite of Central Square, NY, and many nieces and nephews.
