Flutter in to Hudson Highlands Nature Museum on Saturday, August 17 and Sunday, August 18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for its much anticipated Butterfly Weekend at the Museum’s Outdoor Discovery Center, on Muser Drive across from 174 Angola Road, and discover the beauty and unique qualities of butterflies, moths and caterpillars.
Children and adults alike will get a thrill getting “up close and personal” with butterflies in the Butterfly Tent (one ticket is included with each paid admission).

At 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., join Environmental Educators for a presentation all about Monarch Butterflies followed by tagging and releasing Monarchs as part of the Citizen Science project from “Monarch Watch”.

According to Director of Education Jennifer Brinker, “I find butterflies fascinating because they look beautiful and delicate, but they’re really a tough little insect. They also taste with their feet which I think is pretty cool!”

There will also be crafts for kids, and entrance into Grasshopper Grove nature play space is included in the admission price! Admission: Museum Members - $8/adults, $5/children. Not- yet-Members - $10/adults, $7/children. For more information visit hhnm.org or call 845-534-5506, ext. 204.
