Hearing loss support group to meet
The Hearing Loss Group at the Gardiner Library will meet Thursday March 12 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. This month’s topic is: American Sign Language. Jeanine Byrnes, Hearing Loss Advocate at Taconic Resources for Independence, will teach a few basic signs. Learn the history of ASL and join in the fun. You never know when this skill may come in handy.
The goal is to provide information and support to those who have or live with someone who has hearing loss. Hearing loss can be an isolating condition. These meetings provide strategies for maintaining and improving the quality of life for hard of hearing people in our area.
The group meets in the library community room, 133 Farmer’s Turnpike in Gardiner. For directions or further information call 255-1255.
