Save the date! Highland High School Harlequins present The Little Mermaid on Feb. 22 - 23 at 7 p.m. Admission is $10 students and senior citizens, $12 adults. (Snowdate: Feb 24 at 7 p.m.).

Non perishable Food Donations are needed on a weekly basis, to assist children in need in the Highland Central School District. Monetary contributions can be made directly to our account with the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York. Thank you in advance for your kindness.

Donation drop off is the First United Methodist Church, 57 Vineyard Ave, Highland.

It’s time for the snowball!
Join the Highland Educational Foundation on Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 6:30 - 11 p.m. at Novella’s, located at 2 Terwilliger Lane, New Paltz.

Tickets are $60 per person before Feb 22 or $65 per person at the door. Beer & wine is included with dinner, otherwise cash bar. For tickets, text 430-5679 or email highlandeducationalfoundation@gmail.com.

New this year, we will also celebrate the achievements and contributions of our first Highland Hall of Fame Inductees: Benjamin Bragg, Class of ‘43 (posthumous) and Dr. Kathy Magliato, Class of ‘81.

A Husky Pride Honoree, Lionel Heath, HHS Teacher, is also being honored.

Further details about the formation and selection process for the Hall of Fame initiative will be shared shortly.

This year the Highland Educational Foundation will raise money to sponsor Student Enrichment Grants and will also continue to sponsor the Ulster County Community College Foundation’s SUNY Ulster President’s Challenge Scholarship program, which will provide full tuition and expenses for a Highland student to earn a SUNY Ulster degree.

Highland Sons & Daughters of Italy Meeting

You’re invited to join the Highland Sons & Daughters of Italy for dessert and coffee on February 20 at 7 p.m. at the Gateway Diner in Highland. They will continue to discuss the benefits of starting a lodge in Highland. In addition to the overall structure and activities, topics will include lodge positions, price of dues, possible lodge name, event ideas, and recruiting ideas.

The group needs to have 35 applications to become a lodge.

2019 Highland Music Boosters Rewards Reception
Thank you to all of the students and their families that were able to join us at our Recognition Awards Reception. It was an evening of celebration as we recognized our award recipients and students that will be participating in the upcoming All-County Festivals and NYSSMA.

Bring your teddy bear and come in for Valentines Day stories and craft.

• February 2, 6 p.m. Family Lego Night Extravaganza
Join us for an hour of Lego mania, fun for all ages! Registration suggested. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

• February 25, 4, p.m. Crafting with Kids. Love Bug Stamping Craft

• February 28 6:30 p.m. Bark and a Book
Gaila, the Goldendoodle, is a therapy dog who is a great listener. Come practice reading to Gaila today! Registration is required.


Teen & Tween Programs:
• February 15, 4 pm DIY Snow Globes
Come make a beautiful snowglobe at the library using a small mason jar! Preference given to Highland Central School district residents! Program is open to teens only (6th grade and higher).

Adult Programs:
• February 27 6 p.m. Adult Trivia Night
Put your knowledge to the test at our trivia night! Participants compete for prizes by answering a challenging range of questions on pop culture, sports, science, history, etc. Light refreshments will be provided.
