Highland budget easily approved

The Highland School budget of $44,442,937 for 2019-20 passed by a vote of 629 to 197. The incumbent school board candidates ran unopposed. Sue Gilmore had 590 votes and Tom Miller had 632 votes.

A bus proposition for $450,246 passed by a vote of 600 to 221. This includes three 30 passenger buses, two 7 passenger Suburbans and 2 wheel chair vans.

“I feel fantastic,” said Superintendent Thomas Bongiovi. “We have a great community and it was a community and team collaboration so we can continue to provide a quality educational experience for the students of Highland, obviously at a price the public will support.”
