Highland Library to offer museum passes

Did you know that the Highland Public Library has museum passes that allows residents of the Highland Central School District free or discounted admission to more than a dozen great places to visit? Some of the newest additions include: The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, The Children’s Museum of Science and Technology, Hudson River Maritime Museum and much more!

Highland Library Comic Fest
On Saturday, July 6th, the Highland Public Library is hosting Comic Fest from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. There will be Food Trucks, Vendors, an Archie Comics Memorabilia Display and Special Guests! Tickets are on sale now – all tickets sold before July 1st will be eligible to win a prize.
Come check out Comic Fest to see local writers, video and board games, Cosplay, Green Screen Photos, and Local Artists.

Walkway at Night

Have you ever dreamed about spending a moonlit evening on the Walkway while enjoying the scenic vistas of the Hudson River? Here’s your chance! Enjoy breathtaking twilight views, see the night sky with telescopes provided by the Mid-Hudson Astronomical Association (weather permitting), and more!

Walkway Over the Hudson State Park presents Walkway at Night on Friday, June 14, 8:30 – 10:30 p.m.

For the safety of all: bicycles, rollerblades, and skateboards are not permitted for this event. If you bring your furry friends along for the fun, all pets must be on a four-foot non-retractable leash with a light up collar (glow sticks will be available while supplies last).

Movies Under The Walkway
The Walkway’s Upper landing Park is host a screening of Mary Poppins Returns on Saturday, June 29 on the Poughkeepsie side (83 N. Water St, Poughkeepsie). The fun starts at 7 p.m. with a musical performance by Crash and Byrne.

Bring blankets and chairs. Food vendors are available.

Events at the Highland Public Library:
Mario Kart Tournament, June 12 at 3:30 p.m. Verse your friends for the Teen Room Mario Kart championship! Whoever can survive will take home a prize.

Crafting With Kids: June 11 at 6:30 p.m. Learn how to make a Father’s Day Card. For elementary school age children.

Dream Time Story Time : June 13 at 6:30 p.m. Come with your favorite stuffed animal for bedtime stories and a craft.

Ganing for tweens and teens, June 17 at 3 p.m. Come to the library for some outdoor fun! Play badminton, ring toss, and more!
