Democrat Al Lanzetta is running for re-election as the Supervisor for the Town of Marlborough. He will be on the Democrat, Conservative, Working Families and Independence lines on November 5th.

“I enjoy being a public official and working for the people of Marlborough. I have many projects I have initiated that I would like to see completed: building a town playground accessible to families of all abilities; develop the Milton Landing Park into a first class recreation destination and catalyst for economic development; rehabilitate the TOMVAC building into a Community Center; work with Labor’s Local 17 and the Town Highway Department to extend sidewalks in the hamlet of Marlboro; implement improvements to Rte. 9W identified in the completed Ulster County/NYSDOT Plan and extend sewer to attract business.”

Lanzetta has 10 years elected experience working for the people of Marlborough.

“I know how to work with people to keep the government running smoothly, keep taxes down and network to return money to Marlborough’s taxpayers,” he said, adding, “I am a good listener.”

Lanzetta said he will continue to meet the tax cap, work to attract new businesses, apply for grant money and review zoning laws. He is a life-long resident of Marlborough.

“My wife and I have raised 5 children and enjoy spending time with our 6 grandchildren – all of whom live in Marlborough. As always, my only agenda is to keep down taxes and do what is best for the community. My door is always open and it is my responsibility and my honor to serve my Town,” he said.

Republican challenger Russel DeSantis has owned a home in Marlborough for 26 years and previously said he wants to be involved in the town. He said being employed by the MTA loop bus transit system in northern Dutchess County has prepared him for what is involved in working with a county government. He did not respond to a candidate questionnaire sent out by the Southern Ulster Times earlier this month.
