Thank you to the Marlboro High School College Astronomy class and teacher Robert DeMarco for preparing this valuable information!

Thank you to members of the Sankofa Drum and Dance Ensemble for returning to Marlboro Middle School to share African music and culture with students during their lunch periods. The visit was sponsored by the Student Council as part of the school’s celebration of Diversity Week.

Marlboro Free Library
The World-Famous Mount Beacon Incline Railway Thursday, April 11 at 7:00 p.m.

Starting from its grand opening in 1902, the Mount Beacon Incline Railway brought passengers to the top of Mount Beacon and was billed as the “Eighth Wonder of the World,” at its height of popularity during the early 20th century. The railway ferried passengers to the Beaconcrest Hotel, as well as to homes, businesses, and the mountain’s popular casino atop Mount Beacon, until the 1970s.

Join us at the library, as Beacon Historical Society President Denise VanBuren, presents on the history of Beacon’s incline railway.
About the Speaker: Denise VanBuren is the president of the Beacon Historical Society. She has authored and edited three books about the history of Beacon and currently writes the Beacon History Society’s monthly newsletter.
