With the impending retirement of Lloyd Police Chief Daniel Waage at the end of this month, the Town Board appointed Lt. James Janso as the Acting Police Chief, effective February 1.

In addition, the board approved the hiring of Shane N. Haley as a part-time Police Officer at the rate of $21.20/hr, and Jasmine L. Lambert as a part-time Dispatcher at the rate of $18.34/hr. Both new hires became effective on January 16.

Supervisor Fred Pizzuto commented, “I must say I had the pleasure of being in at the end of the interview process with the new hires and you guys blew me away. It’s great to have you on board.”

Councilman Joe Mazzetti voiced his support for Lt. Janso having his new hires at the board meeting.

“I really appreciate bringing the applicants forward so we get to see them face to face and welcome them,” he said.
