Beacon artists Andrea Moreau and Deborah Davidovits present Lost and Found, a collection of drawings and paintings.
Both Moreau and Davidovits start with found materials (stamps and book pages), and through acts of removal, expansion, replication of style and invention of context, they transform these cultural artifacts into works that seek to make visible that which is hidden or implied. With her intimately-scaled works on paper, Davidovits manipulates illustrations in a pursuit of closure, and exploration of the presence of absence, while Moreau builds outward, using stamps as jumping-off points for imaginative ruminations on place, point-of-view, and the relationship between the individual and the group. The show runs through Sunday, September 8, 2019.
