Marlboro approves spending plan

The Marlboro School budget of $58,363,438 for 2019-20 passed by a vote of 520 to 386.

The $19.5 million Vision 2020 Capital Project passed by a vote of 469 to 426. The two winning school board candidates are JoAnn Reed with 591 votes and Karen Brooks with 457. Russell Conley came up short with 398 votes.

Marlboro approves spending plan

The Marlboro School budget of $58,363,438 for 2019-20 passed by a vote of 520 to 386.  

The $19.5 million Vision 2020 Capital Project passed by a vote of 469 to 426. The two winning school board candidates are JoAnn Reed with 591 votes and Karen Brooks with 457. Russell Conley came up short with 398 votes. 

Superintendent Michael Brooks called is a “good day for Marlboro. We respect what our public says and our public says we’re moving forward with a fantastic budget for 2019-20 and we’ve got some work to do with the Capital project. The public said yes and we’re moving forward with the yes. Congratulations to JoAnn and Karen and certainly we wish the best for Russell, having served a number of high quality years for us.”

Brooks said the Vision 2020 Capital Project will now move into the design/approval phase with Albany and, “we anticipate, come this late late winter or early spring,  getting bids out on the street and approving bids and beginning construction a year from now.
