Marlboro High School to host blood drive

Marlboro High School and the American Red Cross are hosting an upcoming blood drive. The bloodmobile will be at the high school on Friday, Feb. 21, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Program leader is Nicole Tsangarakis who can be reached at 236-5810.
Please join our lifesaving mission and schedule an appointment today! Every donation makes a difference. This blood drive is crucial for those who are battling cancer.
The need for blood is constant and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in our community. Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every 2 to 3 seconds and most of us will need blood in our lifetime.
Thank you for supporting the American Red Cross blood program!
Download the Red Cross Blood Donor App on the App Store, Google Play or text BLOODAPP to 90999. Schedule appointments, view your blood type and results of your mini-physical, and track your donations.

On January 22, the group will discuss Bad Monkey, by Carl Hiaasen.
Andrew Yancy, of the Monroe County Sheriff’s office, has a human arm in his freezer. There’s a logical explanation for that, but not for how and why it parted from its shadowy owner. Yancy thinks the boating-accident/shark-luncheon explanation is full of holes, and if he can prove murder, the sheriff might rescue him from his grisly Health Inspector gig (it’s not called the roach patrol for nothing).
Yancy must negotiate an obstacle course of wildly unpredictable events with a crew of even more wildly unpredictable characters, including his just-ex lover, a hot-blooded fugitive from Kansas; the twitchy widow of the frozen arm; two avariciously optimistic real-estate speculators; the Bahamian voodoo witch known as the Dragon Queen, whose suitors are blinded unto death by her peculiar charms; Yancy’s new true love, a kinky coroner; and the eponymous bad monkey.
