Minivan pushes another car over embankment

A Newburgh man, who was backing a Dodge Caravan into a parking space near the Raccoon Saloon on Route 9W in Marlboro around 10 Wednesday morning, unknowingly backed into a parked Honda Civic, causing it to slide on ice and snow and over a 100-foot vertical embankment.

Marlborough Police charged the driver of the SUV, Enrique Moya, 78, of Newburgh with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. He is due in town court on March 4 at 4 p.m.
No one was injured in the incident.

The Marlboro Fire Department deployed a fireman down the embankment with ropes and pulley and determined the Honda was unoccupied. The owner, Courtney Velez, 26, of Beacon, was located at her residence and was reported to be in good health
Assisting the Marlborough Police were Marlboro Fire Department, State Police, City of Kingston Technical Rope Team, Mobile Life Support Services, Marlboro Highway Department and Absolutely Automotive.
