The main feature of the meeting: a virtual tour of the most powerful—ever--AM broadcast station in the US, the 500,000-watt WLW in Cincinnati. OCARC’s own Tom Ray, W2TRR, broadcast engineering consultant, will share his own experience with large AM-FM-TV installations. Then a video, created by engineer Geoffrey Mendenhall, W8GNM, will show the enormous WLW transmitter, called “The Nation’s Station.” And Geoff himself will join the meeting via Skype, with additional inside information and pictures. The public is welcome to attend the presentation, and refreshments will be available.
