Orange County to hold household hazardous waste, pharmaceutical collection event

Orange County will host two Household Hazardous Waste and Operation Safe Scripts Pharmaceutical Collection events for County businesses and residents from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 12 and 13 at Thomas Bull Memorial Park in Hamptonburgh.

The Friday, April 12 event is for businesses, schools, farms and municipalities only. Registration is required and residents cannot attend. Cost will be determined by the vendor based on the type and amount of waste to be disposed of (up to 220 pounds). Drop off times will be scheduled by the vendor. Registration forms can be found by clicking at orangecountygov.com/efs and will be accepted until March 29

The Saturday, April 13 event is free for Orange County residents who provide proof of residency (driver’s license or utility bill with Orange County address). The Orange County Sheriff’s Office will be on site collecting unwanted over the counter and prescription medications.
