Planned Parenthood Mid-Hudson Valley (PPMHV) and the Newburgh LGBTQ Center are proud to announce the expansion of hormone care for transgender and non-binary people at the Planned Parenthood Newburgh Health Center.
PPMHV is proud to offer these services through an informed consent model, which emphasizes and acknowledges a patient’s personal autonomy in being fully informed about their options and making the best choice for their own care.
In addition to hormone care, PPMHV knows our patients and community members often seek resources and referrals for other caring, informed and welcoming providers that are prepared and skilled in working with transgender and non-binary people. We are proud to provide a vetted list of referrals for trans, gender nonconforming and nonbinary -welcoming primary care providers, mental health services, surgeons, dental care providers, support groups, and more.
Ruth-Ellen Blodgett, President & CEO said, “Planned Parenthood Mid-Hudson Valley is committed to improving the way transgender people receive health care in our region and we proudly work together with our LGBT community to expand access and eliminate barriers to care. Providing quality, compassionate, gender-affirming care from a respectful, informed-consent model in the Mid-Hudson Valley is essential to PPMHV’s work, and we look forward to seeing the Transgender Health Services program continue to grow into the future.”
PPMHV’s hormone care for transgender and non-binary people is available at theNewburgh, Monticello, Poughkeepsie and Kingston health centers. For more information, or to schedule an appointment, please call (845) 562-7800 or visit www.ppmhv.org.
