By Stacia DonaldsonOn January 2, a swearing in ceremony was held at the Plattekill Town Hall, celebrating six town of Plattekill public officials. Surrounded by her parents, Plattekill Town Justice Annamaria Maciocia, who was re-elected to her position, was sworn back into office by her co-judge, Town Justice Robert W. Murphy. After taking the oath of office, Judge Maciocia took over the position of officiant and continued the ceremony by swearing in Town Supervisor Joseph Croce, Councilman Michael Putnam and Dean DePew, who were re-elected to their respective offices last November. Councilman Larry Farrelly, who was also re-elected, was unable to attend the ceremony. Farrelly will be sworn into office by the Town Clerk at a later date.
The only newly elected official, former assistant Town Clerk Donna Hedrick, was sworn in to the office of Plattekill Town Clerk with her husband and two sons at her side. The ceremony concluded with a short speech by Judge Maciocia which recognized the dedication of those who choose to serve as elected officials.
After the ceremony, it was back to business for the Plattekill Town Board. At the first meeting of each year, the town board holds a reorganizational meeting. This meeting is the official record of all appointments, committees, and resolutions officially recognized by the town. New in 2020, Donna Hedrick was appointed as the Records Access Officer and Registrar of Vital Statistics and Nancy Paroli was appointed as the new Town Publicist. A complete record of the reorganizational meeting can be obtained at the Plattekill Town Hall.
The next regular meeting of the Plattekill Town Board will be held on January 15 starting at 7 p.m. at the Plattekill Town Hall.
