On Saturday, September 22, 2020, the Plattekill Public Library will be holding its annual Trustee / Budget vote. This is a chance for all to come out, show your support, and vote for the future of your Library. For the past two years, I, Will Farrell, as Board President, has had the pleasure of overseeing many great changes the last two years with the Library. After an arduous process, we as a Board managed to buy the Library property from the Town. While in this process we simultaneously applied for and received a $119,600.00 grant towards the purchase price of the property. Now the Library truly has its own long term home. The Board also approved the hiring of our new Director, Darren Lanspery who has come in and made a huge impact on how the Library is managed. Please stop in and meet him, he is actually there everyday. Our new Treasurer has the Library on sound financial ground and expertly manages our funds. Our staff is excellent and is always ready to help.

I am asking for your support this year as I am running for another four year term and would like to continue the progress we have seen the last two years. There are still many achievements I would like to see happen and I want to see our Library grow. I am also asking you to support two local candidates Jasmine Vasquez and Phil Johnson. Both are very involved in our community and would be great additions to our current Board of Trustees. I realize our world is a little crazy right now, but I do hope you can make the time to come out and support me, Jazmine and Phil on Saturday, September 22, at the Plattekill Library, polls open 12 noon to 9pm.
