Current Plattekill Town Supervisor and Republican Joseph Croce will again face democratic hopeful Jaime Pagan in the election for Town Supervisor on November 5. This race is a familiar one, with Supervisor Croce winning the 2015 elections against Jamie Pagan 926 to 726.

This time around, each of the candidates has big plans for the future of Plattekill.

Joseph Croce
Croce, a longtime resident of Plattekill, will be running for his 4th term as Town Supervisor. Mr. Croce is a successful business owner and member of numerous local committees and organizations, including the Modena Fire Department, the Plattekill Master Plan Committee and the Plattekill Veterans Committee.

Plattekill Town Supervisor Croce has increased the services offered to the community without a tax increase. His dedication to the seniors and veterans of Plattekill can be seen in his involvement in the Plattekill Veterans memorial. To increase the safety of Plattekill, Supervisor Croce, along with the help of Kevin Roberts, procured a $185,000 grant on behalf of the Modena Fire Department. This grant will be used to fund upgrades the firehouse facility, directly benefiting the community.

Croce hopes he will be re-elected to the office of Town Supervisor in order to participate in the towns on-going projects. Mr. Croce recently started the process of updating the Town of Plattekill Master Plan. Last updated in 2003, the Master Plan is a blueprint for the future of Plattekill. These updates, gathered from input of residents, assists the town in updating the zoning code to better accommodate new businesses, housing and tourism. Mr. Croce has also been a staunch advocate for the Thomas Felten Park Expansion project, which promises to bring more recreational opportunities to the people of Plattekill. A proposed medical facility development deal in Plattekill could potentially increase the town’s commercial tax revenue, helping to decrease the burden on homeowners.

Dedication, experience and service to the community is the bases of Joseph Croce’s campaign for re-election to the office of Plattekill Town Supervisor.

Jaime Pagan
Pagan is a 46-year resident of the Town of Plattekill and retired at the rank of investigator in the New York State Troopers. Mr. Pagan first ran for the office of Town Supervisor in the 2015 elections.

As Town Supervisor, Pagan hopes to alleviate his concerns for the future and well-being of Plattekill. The current government, according to Pagan, has not taken steps to meet the needs of the diverse population. The Town of Plattekill is not focusing on developing new programs and committees that addresses the needs of its residents. New programs at the Town Parks for the children of Plattekill and enhancing services and programs for seniors are topics, according to Pagan, that seem to come up during every election, but are forgotten afterwards. Mr. Pagan wants to address these topics head on.

If elected to the office of Town Supervisor,. Pagan will work to pursue responsible economic development in the town to benefit all. He plans on working with the State of New York to protect the community’s farmers to keep the rural character Plattekill is known for. Mr. Pagan will use the vast knowledge obtained from his years of service to the New York State Troopers, as a police mentor for the Department of State and the Department of Defense in Afghanistan and Kuwait, and as a UN peacekeeper in Haiti as a foundation to achieve his goals as Town Supervisor. Mr. Pagan will also use his roots in the community to foster the connection between the Town Board and the people of Plattekill.
