Sandra L. Roan passed away peacefully on Monday, October 19, 2020 at Kingston Hospital.
Sandra was born on August 13, 1938, in Chester, Pennsylvania to the late Mary L. and Clyde W. Roan, Sr. She attended Highland High School and graduated in 1957. She was formerly married to James L. DiStasi, who predeceased her.
Sandra worked for many years as a legal secretary for several local law firms, including Stewart T. Schantz in Highland and Vandewater and Vandewater in Poughkeepsie.
Survivors include her three daughters Kathleen C. DiStasi Merritt (James), Sandra L. DiStasi Schoonmaker (David), and Michele DiStasi Prince (Robert); eight grandchildren Jenilee Dupont, Robert Dupont (Sabrina), Alicia Dupont, Timothy Dalton, Trevor Vayo (Kaley), Johnathan Vayo (Michaela), Robert T. Prince III (Nicole), and Samantha Prince (Brandon); and four great grandchildren Madison Nicole Mallon, Audrey Rose Vayo, Silas Robert Prince, and Abel James Prince.
She is also survived by her brother-in-law Lewis C. DiStasi, Jr., nieces, nephews, friends, and her beloved dog, Junior. She was a friend of Bill, a Mom to many, and an avid Dale Earnhardt (Jr. and Sr.) fan.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters Jean and Carol and her brother Clyde W. Roan, Jr., her sister-in-law Mary DiStasi, her nephew Peter DiStasi, and her grandson Philip Dupont.
Funeral service were held Oct. 23 at the Torsone Funeral Home with Reverend Arlene Dawber officiating. Burial was at Highland Cemetery.
