Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ulster County’s 4-H Program is excited to announce summer events in the spirit of agriculture! Our first event is sure to bring joy to families across the Hudson Valley. Come to our ‘Drive-thru Safari’ located at the Ulster County Fairgrounds (249 Libertyville Road, New Paltz) on August 1 (rain date August 2) from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Bring your family, relax in your car, drive through our animal safari filled with barnyard friends, and finish with one of our famously delicious 4-H milkshakes!
  Everyone will remain in their cars to ensure safety and timeliness. Volunteers and youth will take your orders (if you wish). Milkshakes are $4 each and we accept cash only. Flavors include Vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. If you just want to come see the animals, that’s fine too!
  Admission to the safari is free and all proceeds from milkshake sales benefit the Ulster County 4-H Program. If both days are raining or have bad weather, this event will be canceled. Event updates will be posted at ulster.cce.cornell.edu/4HSafari.
  The second event of the summer is our Online 4-H Livestock Auction. This year to ensure the safety of all involved and to expand our program reach, we’ve taken the auction online! Each year Ulster County’s 4-H youth raise livestock for sale at the auction. This exciting event will be open for live bidding on August 6 and closes on August 8. All “lots” (or animals) will be listed online for viewing a week prior to opening day. Youth handlers will be listed with their livestock and a description. All proceeds from sales go directly to the 4-H youth handlers.
