Theodore Schurko, 72, of Clintondale, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at his home. Born on November 1, 1946, in Yonkers, NY, he was the son of the late Michael and Sophie (Iwachiu) Schurko. 

Ted married Angela Muscarella-Dursi on August 26, 2000 at Our Lady of Grace Church, West Babylon, NY. Angela survives at home along with his step-grandson, Alan. 

He worked for New Paltz Central School District as a custodian, retiring in 2013. 

Ted was the ultimate handyman, always fixing things around the house. He loved mentoring his young step grandson, Alan, teaching him his many skills. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Ted was a volunteer, helping out at his church, St. Joseph’s, where he was a devout parishioner. Ted was a very likeable man and had the gift of gab. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree and was a member of the Color Guard in the past. 

In addition to his parents, Ted was predeceased by his step daughter, Karen Dursi. 

Besides his wife, Angela, of Clintondale, he is survived by his sister, Catherine Scaffer of Chesapeake, VA; his step sons, Frank Dursi of West Babylon, NY and Thomas Dursi of Miami, FL; his step grandson, Alan Saintus of Clintondale; and his step granddaughter, Samantha Dursi of West Babylon. 

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, 34 South Chestnut Street, New Paltz on Monday, April 8 with Father Salvatore Cordero, officiating.
