Highland girls romp 16-0
Alexa Pavese pitched a two-hitter and struck out 10 batters, including the 400th of her career in the Highland Huskies’ 16-0 win over Webutuck in a Mid Hudson Athletic League softball game on Wednesday.
Sierra Spinelli had three hits, including two doubles and two RBIs. Violet Brienza added two hits and two RBIs and Delainey Reid had two doubles and three RBIs. Abie Maier had two hits and two RBIs.
The Huskies opened the week with a 10-2 win over Liberty on April 30.

Dukes suffer three losses
It was a rough week for the Marlboro baseball team, suffering two Mid Hudson Athletic League Division II losses.
Nate Nilson had a single and two RBI as the Rondout Valley Ganders beat the Iron Dukes, 5-3 at Marlboro High School.
Cooper Vogel singled and drove in a run for the Iron Dukes, who also got an RBI from Casey Vogel. The Dukes also finished off a previous game against the Ganders, which they lost, 11-10.
The opened the week with a 7-4 loss to the Red Hook Raiders on the roads.

Owen Schlagler had two hits and two RBIs for the Iron Dukes (10-4). Matt Ciarimboli had two hits and two RBIs and Tommy Benfer doubled. Sal Montaperto, Jr. drove in a run.

Huskies win 1, lose 1
Liam Van Valkenburgh won at first singles and Andrew Lamark and Ziyad Atesal won at second doubles in the Highland Huskies’ 3-2 loss to Oneonta on Wednesday in a Mid Hudson Athletic League boys’ tennis match on Wednesday.
Van Valkenburgh beat James Lynch, 6-2, 7-5 and Lamark and Atesal beat Elias Sheldon and Jack O’Neill, 6-3, 7-6 (7-2).

Lamark and Atesal got the only win for Highland in a 4-1 loss to Red Hook on April 30.
