Trump’s “good feelings”

Posted

On March 20, Trump declared he had “ a good feeling” about a malaria drug (Chloroquine) that he wanted to use to fight the corona virus.

Dr. Fauci had just suggested his skepticism about this drug on camera since reports of its therapeutic value were based on anecdotal reporting rather than vigorous clinical trials.

So now we are to base our attack on a pandemic scourge that is spreading like wildfire on Donald Trump’s good feelings. I guess his equally scientific “Day of Prayer” or miraculous disappearance of COVID 19 didn’t quite work out. Are we surprised?

Of all the actions taken by this administration to weaken the health protections passed by previous presidential incumbencies, Trump’s reaction to the coronavirus is, perhaps, the most despicable and egregious. I am reminded of Joseph Welch’s famous last words to “commie-baiter” Senator Joseph McCarthy back in the fifties- “You have done enough. Have you no sense of decency?”
