The Ulster BOCES high school and adult students in the Cosmetology programs are providing manicures in their Port Ewen-based salon on April 11 to benefit the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation (FoJ), an organization that supports children with childhood cancers. Manicures will feature FoJ colors of turquoise, yellow, and/or purple and will cost $1 each, with additional donations accepted. The fundraiser is being coordinated through the school’s SkillsUSA Club.

Daytime appointments with high school Career & Technical Education students will be offered from 9 to 10:15 a.m. and 12 to 1:25 p.m. Students in the Adult Career Education program will be available for clients from 3 to 7:30 p.m.

The salon is located at the Career & Technical Center on Route 9W in Port Ewen. No appointment is necessary. If you are visiting for daytime services, check in with security at the main entrance and have identification with you. For evening amenities, please enter the center through the Adult Education entrance.

SkillsUSA members are also partnering with local restaurants in this charitable endeavor. Panera Bread, located at 1151 Ulster Avenue in Kingston, will donate a portion of sales earned between the hours of 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9. Customers must present a voucher (print or electronically) for their sale to apply.

On Wednesday, April 10, Applebees, located at 1171 Ulster Avenue in Kingston, will also donate 10 percent of the day’s receipts from those customers who present a printed FoJ voucher.

Vouchers for both events can be downloaded at www.ulsterboces.org/foj. For more information, call Kathy Landers at 845-797-4142.
